Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

That's what Philippians 4:6-7 says. And it is becoming my new mindset. I am about to go back to school...AHHH! Summer has gone by so quickly. It has been a roller coaster ride of emotions throughout the summer. I worked with some great people and made new friends who were great influences and really helped me with my walk with God, possibly more than they even know! I worked a LOT this summer...did I mention that? It was kind of crazy.

Anyways, so why is my mindest becoming Philippians 4:6-7? Well, in case you don't know me very well, I worry...a lot...about everything...even the silliest of things that most people don't bother to even think twice about. I worry myself sick, I worry myself sleepless, and I'm kind of getting tired of it. With a new school year comes a whole load of worries...new classes, new roommates, new friends, new new new new! Unexpected things will happen. Unplanned things will surely happen...if you know me you definitely know what a planner I am as well...it's a bit insane. So when this verse popped into my head this morning, I pulled out my trusty Bible and found this verse and in the notes about this verse it said something that made a whole lot of sense to me! When you start to worry, stop and pray. The more you pray, the closer you grow to God and the more you trust Him with your worries and the less you worry. Yes to some people it may sound like a duh kind of statement, but it just kind of hit me differently this morning for some reason.

So in approximately 2 days (from this exact moment) I will be back at school, unpacking, rearranging my room, and waiting for everything to happen! I am excited, nervous, anxious (in good and bad ways), but I know that no matter what happens this year God knows what's going on and He's in control of it all. His plans are all for a specific reason. I'm working on trusting Him completely with ALL of the plans He has for me :) After all, He does know best.
