Pictures & CT Scans

Here are some pictures that go with my last post. I am home for Thanksgiving now and my internet at home is SO much better than the internet at school! :)

This is my mom and I on the day of the Ride for a Cure (this is the day I started my match-making skills for her and Tony)

This is Tony and I taking off - nice helmet, right? :) I'd much rather have it and not need it than ever need it and not have it!

This is Steve, I call him my brother, and he's the one who got me started liking bikes and riding :)

This is my dad and I at the zoo the weekend he came down for his birthday. If you can't see the sign, it says "Reeves Muntjac" it's an animal at the Mesker Zoo!

Harley Girl and Cereal Killer at the halloween party! We all had a blast! It was a very fun night with lots of food and games and just getting to hang out with one another.

So those are the pictures...now, I'm sure you are anxiously awaiting the CT Scan part of my blogging adventure for the day...well here goes!

Since this past Sunday I have had a headache from you know where, along with some crazy dizziness and a little bit of nausea. I have taken advil, tylenol, excedrin migraine, advil cold and sinus, and aleve and NOTHING worked...I was getting very discouraged...my mom convinced me to go to the doctor today...only my doctor wasn't available because the office was booked. So I went to Convenient Care...big mistake...big...huge...I have to go shopping now! Haha sorry that's from Pretty Woman! Anyways! I go in, tell the nurse all of my symptoms, the doctor comes in (sporting IU scrubs!) and I retell him everything I told the nurse, he looks in my eyes, ears, nose, mouth...asks if I have insurance...then tells me that I have an inner ear infection so he's writing me a prescription for pain medicine, muscle relaxer, and he wants to send me for a cat scan just to make sure there's nothing serious going on...like a tumor on my sinuses...now I know I didn't go to med school, nor will I ever...but really man? I've had a headache for 4 days and you immediately think it's a tumor?? It's NOT A TUMOR (to quote Kindergarten Cop). It was a ridiculous/interesting experience and I left, never got the CT scan nor the prescriptions, and I went to the orthodontist and he told me it could all be from tension and grinding my teeth. I now have a very fashionable mouth guard to sleep in to see if that helps any. Did I mention that he touched my temporal lobes and I about jumped up out of the chair? That's when he said, "Hm that's from tension." and the rest is history. My orthodontist is hilarious.

That was my day of excitement! It rained all day which made me sad because it was a very cold rain and I would much rather have snow this time of year than rain! I tempted to make sugar cookies and decorate them and failed...my icing was gross...my tips wouldn't stay on my icing bags...fail...almost epic...but that is A-okay because tomorrow is Thanksgiving!!! I will be going to three, yes THREE, Thanksgiving dinners in the course of 4 hours...I will be a plump little turkey by the time tomorrow is over and I am oh so excited about it!

20 days until I will be home for Christmas break!!!

Life

Wow...I'm a horrible blogger...it's been 2 1/2 months since my last post...I appologize to all 3 of my followers...

Life is crazy, to say the least. This semester has been fun, sad, stressful, and did I mention crazy? 18 credit hours, working 8 hours a week, weekly Leadership meeting, leading a Bible study, College Mentors for Kids, Student Education Association...did I forget anything? I don't think so. Just try to fit anything else into that schedule!

Life has brought a lot of highs and lows for me these past three months. I fell in love with Harleys in September :) It's a wonderful relationship that has brought me oh so much happiness. I successfully got my mom hooked up with her new boyfriend after going on the Ride For a Cure with him...we chit chatted about her and I did some talking a five days later they went on a ride, had dinner, and the rest is history. He's a super nice guy. I like him.

I have gone to my first two football games this semester! A high school game and a college game. I love football now. It's a wonderful wonderful thing as well :)

In October, my roommates and I went to a Big Daddy Weave, Aaron Shust, and Andy Kirk concert at a local church and it was one of the best events ever! Best concert I have ever been to, bar none. It was so amazing to see so many people get so excited about God. It was just awesome. Left me speechless with three new favorite artists.

My dad's birthday was two days after the concert. He and Pam (his girlfriend) came down to visit. I was extremely excited about my dad's birthday present. I had wanted to do this last year for his birthday and that plan fell through. This year, it worked :) I got my dad tickets to a UK basketball game...I despise UK...in every single way possible...but I got us 2 tickets, December 28, 7:00, Rupp Arena. I'm excited...except for the UK part of it all. And my dad was (and is) really excited which makes it exciting as well.

Encounter, the campus ministry I have been involved in since coming to school, had a little Halloween/Costume Party the Friday before Halloween. I loved my costume...not gonna lie...I was a Harley girl :) Pictures will come from all of these events sometime soon, but my internet stinks in my apartment and it takes 15 minutes to upload a picture...so I know you will be anxiously awaiting pictures.

No, not everything about the past few months have been fun and happy and good. Life is just crazy and painful sometimes. But with God holding me up I know that anything is possible, and nothing is too hard or painful to work through :) One of my favorite Bible verses has become Psalm 34:18-20 - The Lord is close to the brokenthearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. It has definitely helped me through a lot the past month.

The next few weeks are going to be very busy and somewhat stressful... 12 days until I get to go home for Thanksgiving!!!! Woo hoo!!!! 12 is my favorite number :)
