The Answer is 7

Before y'all say anything, I know I'm horrible at this blogging stuff...Kasee I promised to update last weekend and I did not...I appologize...but I am updating now :)

Thanks to Kasee getting me stuck on 7, I always say the answer is 7 now. Therefore, I'm going to go with that as a theme for today...I'm going to write about 7 things...and that's all...

1) In 7 days and 7 hours, I am leaving for New York! Our college ministry group is going there for spring break. I am excited, to say the least. I fought with God about going...it's going to require getting out of my comfort zone...a LOT, and as humans we don't particularly enjoy doing that...but I am excited to see how God works through our group while we are interacting with different people there, on the way there, and on the way back. Not to mention how much fun the 18-ish hour van ride there will be!

2) I left my house at 7:17 this morning to go to the orthodontist...my teeth are stubborn...my ortho even said so! My orthodontist is rather humorous and I feel as though I'm one of his favorite/special patients (mostly because I'm a college student and he agrees to meet me when I come home since I can't usually make it in when they're actually open). So he came over, sat down, asked me how I was, the usual conversation you have when you run into someone. So he takes a look at my teeth and goes, "Hm...well if your left teeth looked like your right teeth we could take these off soon." Not exactly what I wanted to hear...so, rubber bands (they like to call them elastics) are continuing to be my best friend...my jaw is nearly wired shut with them now. Hopefully they fix it all and I will be free sometime soon!

3) My mom's birthday is in 7 weeks (and 1 day). My mom is my best friend. It was great to finally get to come home and see her. We talk about anything and everything and I have no idea what I would do without her!

4) I purchased 7 new Lady Antebellum songs this past week. I kind of have an addiction to Lady A. They're wonderful. They sing me to sleep a lot of nights. Along with Aaron Shust.

5) I have the privilege of working with 17 third graders (for 7 weeks) this semester! They're wonderful. I started working with them last week. I spent all day last Friday with them (I was exhausted by the time I went home). Yesterday when I was there some of the girls started talking to me a little bit (they realized that I don't bite) and they wanted to know how old I was. Their guesses were 20 and 30...much closer than 86 like my Kindergarteners guessed last semester. I get to teach them about mixed numbers next week...I'm rather frightened but SO excited at the same time!

6) So ya know that guy, Zach, that I mentioned a few blogs ago (or maybe just one blog ago...anywho)? Well he has been a great addition to my life recently. On Valentine's Day we officially started dating. He's wonderful. Words do not do him justice. It's amazing how much alike we are. It's great. He's definitely been an inspiration to me. Just one more person that I thank God for every day!

7) I have realized in the past few weeks that God was not kidding when He said we just need to ask Him for something and He will provide...He meant that literally. I was talking to some of my friends about some of the junk I've been through in the past 6 months or so, and I realized that when I finally stopped and turned to God and asked Him to help me, He did. He started opening my eyes to SO MANY Bible verses that just gave me comfort and hope, He put amazing people in my life and opened my eyes to those who were already there and willing to help me out, songs started hitting home for me, it was absolutely amazing. John 16:24 is great..."Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you shall receive and your joy will be complete." Period. End of story.
